Chen Style Tai Chi

There are many styles of Tai Chi practiced worldwide today. The Chen style, however, is the oldest form of Tai Chi and it is from here that all other styles originate. It is unique in that it combines slow and fluid motions with fast, dynamic movements known as 'Fajin' (explosive power).

Initially, however, all training is carried out slowly, softly and carefully in order to learn how to relax the body and mind and develop a sound, integrated body structure. Tai Chi training is deceptive! Moving slowly may look easy from the outside but instead provides a brilliant workout that trains the whole muscular/skeletal/neurological system in a functional and perceptive way. Furthermore, all age groups and abilities can practice because there is no risk of injury.

Regular training in Chen Tai Chi is an excellent way to develop relaxed, focused and intelligent whole-body strength. Arguably the most usefull of all exercise systems, Chen Tai Chi teaches you how to use your body in a functional and enjoyable way.

Whether your interests lay in sports, martial arts or simply being relaxed, fit and healthy Chen Tai Chi will greatly improve the way you use and experience your body.

'Chen Tai Chi is the source from which all other Tai Chi styles derive. All styles of Tai Chi, such as Yang, Wu, Hao and Sun have the same principles as their foundation. However, during my years of training and research I have found the Chen style to be the most natural, complete and enjoyable system of Tai Chi. To me it makes perfect sense as a comprehensive method for health, fitness and self-defense. It is practical, down to earth and rewarding. So, if you already practise another style of Tai Chi come and give Chen a try. I am adamant that you will love it.'
