Taiji Retreat - Xinjia Yilu - Greece 2017

A week-long Taiji retreat from the 4th - 11th September with Master Chen Bing at the beautiful island of Samos in Greece hosted by Roza Maragopoulou and Sam Moor. The retreat aims to offer an ideal environment for focused training and practise suitable for experienced Taiji practitioners. Chen Bing will teach the whole of Xinjia Yilu along with Pushing-hands - this comprises a unique opportunity to learn the more intricate and advanced Taiji form with Chen Bing.

Training sessions will include Chen Bing's famous Fansong Gong exercises, silk-reeling, standing practise and corrections. Chen Bing will also be available throughout the retreat for a small number of private lessons - these must be booked in advance and will operate on a first-come first-served basis. To ensure a high level tuition availability is limited to a maximum of 25 participants only. Book early to avoid dissapointment!

The retreat will take place at  the beautiful Villa Eva in Samos where the sea is 50 metres away from the training grounds offering us an ideal environment to immerse ourselves into Chen Bing's inspirational in-depth teaching. The training will be 6 hours a day, divided in two 3 hour sessions and a 3 hour break in between for lunch, rest and a swim! Three meals will be offered daily (meat and veggie options available). The fee for the retreat is 850 euros per person which includes group tuition, accommodation (twin sharing), and meals.

How to get there: Participants are required to arrange their own travel and will have to fly to Athens and then catch either a 55min flight to the island of Samos or a ferry (8 hours). We can assist you in booking your flights or boat tickets from Athens to Samos and back.

Chen Bing - Taiji Almighty

Nephew of Grandmasters Chen Xiao Wang and Chen Xiao Xing, Chen Bing is considered to be one of the best Taijiquan practitioners to have ever come from Chen village. A direct descendent of Chen Wangting, Chen Bing was six years old when he started to train with his famous uncles.

Almost 40 years of training later sees him as a highly skilled practitioner, superb teacher and outstanding pushing-hands tournament champion, his many successes and sublime approach to practicing and teaching the wonderful art of Taijiquan earning him the nickname 'Taiji Almighty'. A humble and grass-roots teacher with a warm personality, Roza and I are very honoured to host Chen Bing in Greece for what we hope will become an annual event. Chen Bing, Roza and Sam  look forward to sharing this wonderful event with you!
