Sam Moor is the senior instructor for Sussex Tai Chi. Having started training in Kick-Boxing at the age of 17 he began studying the Chinese internal arts when he turned 20 seeking a more intelligent and integrative approach to martial arts and training the body and mind. During the last fourteen years Sam has focused the majority of his time upon studying the Chen style of Tai Chi and the little known but formidable art of Yiquan.
Over the years Sam has trained extensively in China. He has made numerous trips to Beijing, Zhengzhou and Chenjiagou (the Chen village) to live and train with Master Chen Xiao Wang's eldest son, Chen Jun, and to study Yiquan with Master Yao Chengguang.
Sam regularly trains with Karel and Eva Koskuba of the Chinese Internal Arts Association. Sam also takes every opportunity to enjoy training with Master Chen when he is in the UK.
Sam has a Ba(hons) in Philosophy and History, diplomas in Classical Massage and Anatomy/Physiology and is a keen musician and wildlife enthusiast. He is entirely fascinated by Chen Tai Chi and Yiquan and can usually be found training for 4 to 5 hours each day. Sam has had many articles published on Tai Chi. He writes a monthly column for the Chichester Observer and regularly contributes to Tai Chi Magazine. It is his aim to promote these remarkable arts as widely as possible.
